MediGRID-Delegation beim Annual Meeting der AMIA in Washington

Das deutsche MediGRID-Projekt hat eine Delegation zur Jahrestagung der American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) entsandt, die vom 11. bis 15. November 2006 in Washington stattgefunden hat. Die Delegation hat mit einer eigenen Reihe von Sessions am Programm teilgenommen. MediGRID ist ein Konsortium unter Beteiligung der TMF, das innerhalb der D-Grid-Initiative zur Etablierung einer eScience-Plattform auf der Basis von Grid-Technologien vom BMBF gefördert wird.
Die MediGRID-Delegation konnte erfolgreich einen interessanten Austausch mit einer Reihe von international renommierten Kollegen initiieren, die als geladene Gäste an den MediGRID-Sessions teilnahmen:
- Yannick Legré (LPC CNRS/IN2P3, Port-au-Chevau/Frankreich) von der HealthGrid-Initiative der EU,
- Howard Bilofsky (Univ. of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia) und Parvati Dev (University School of Medicine, Stanford) von US HealthGrid,
- Peter Covitz (NCI / NCICB, Washington), Mary Jo Deering (NCICB, Washington), J. Robert Beck (Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia) und Frank J. Manion (Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia) von cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid (caBIG) bzw. caGRID,
- Shawn Murphy (Laboratory of Computer Science, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston), Peter Szolovits (Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge) sowie Marco Ramoni (Harvard Medical School) von Integrating Biology and the Bedside (I2B2).
Das interessante Tagungsprogramm der AMIA, eine MediGRID-Vorstandssitzung sowie ein gemeinsamer 'Field Trip' zur National Library of Medicine (NLM) (am NIH, Washington) rundeten die Studienreise ab.
